I am so excited to share these beautiful boho maternity portraits and a little story about how I came to photograph this dynamic couple. I met Michelle through her sister Shana who has been a very long time client of mine. In fact, I just photographed Shana’s own Maternity Session less than a year prior to Michelle’s session. No one knew at the time that Michelle was pregnant too!
These sisters have an incredible bond. What a gift to be having babies so close together and I feel like their pregnancies have divine intervention. Having photographed Shana’s Maternity Session with her sister already being pregnant and then 7 months later, being here photographing Michelle. Of course, she brought her sister along too for a few pictures of them together.
Each of these sisters had beautiful boho maternity portraits done. They both wore dresses that were made by Shana out of their grandmothers and mothers tablecloths and doilies. This is extra special considering they lost their Mother a few years back now. So they wanted to incorporate special items into their session as a remembrance and a way to have their mother their with them during this special time in their lives. Shana has an incredible creative gift and these lace dresses were unbelievably amazing in ever way!
We ended up shooting this session at the same location as Shana’s session. The Desert National Wildlife Refuge is truly one of my favorite spots for a Maternity or Family Portrait Session. I love this little oasis in the desert. We even had a few spring blooms left over to play with. Michelle started off by saying she was going to be awkward in front of the camera but that could not have been farthest from the truth! She worked every single pose. I am so in love with this session. It was hard to pick just a few to share, so I hope you enjoy all my favorites from this session!
