Red Rock Family Portraits – Las Vegas Family Photographer

I recently had the pleasure of photographing some beautiful Red Rock Family portraits in spring outside of Las Vegas. The mom and her grown daughters were a joy to work with, as we captured their love and laughter in the stunning backdrop of the red rocks.

The yellow wildflowers added a pop of color to the photos, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. The natural beauty of the red rocks provided the perfect backdrop for our session, highlighting the bond between the family members.

As a Las Vegas family photographer, I am always thrilled to capture special moments like these. The laughter and love shared between this family made the session a truly memorable experience.

I hope these photos will serve as a lasting reminder of the special bond between this family, and bring a smile to their faces for years to come. It was a pleasure to be a part of their red rock family portraits, and I look forward to capturing more beautiful moments for families in the future.

Sharing more from this gorgeous session. We rescheduled this session twice due to winds. Dad ended up forgetting all his clothes he planned for this session and yet with a little help from Photoshop, we still made some serious magic. I will also forever love this location for one of the only lush green meadows in Las Vegas with gorgeous light. It is a hidden gem.

Let’s talk Lenses! I, personally, shoot with two. A Sigma 35mm Art and a Sigma 105mm Art. I will admit… I am very partial to my 105mm. It’s probably on my camera about 75% of the time. However, there are times when my 35 is just necessary for a different vibe. Especially in backlight situations where the sun is still relatively high and strong or when I have small kids that just need me to be closer to get those interactions.

However, in this situation, the 35mm gives me the ability to get the sun behind my subject creating that perfect golden glow. But I also love the hazy feel of the same scenario with my 105mm with that creamy depth of field. So I always have to swap between them for the same scene but two very different looks.

First session on Mt. Charleston last night and I was SOOOOO happy to be back. Mountain sessions are by far my favorite and it was beautiful weather with a little snowy background.

This is one view that will forever hold a piece of my heart.

At some point I will actually share some of these sessions instead of just one or two images when my plate is not so full.

First session on Mt. Charleston last night and I was SOOOOO happy to be back. Mountain sessions are by far my favorite and it was beautiful weather with a little snowy background.

This is one view that will forever hold a piece of my heart.

At some point I will actually share some of these sessions instead of just one or two images when my plate is not so full.

Oh man! I love maternity sessions so much. This beautiful mama requested my white dress from my client closet which ended up being absolutely stunning with the backlight (more to come from that very soon).

However, I brought this one as well from @reclamationdesigncompany on a whim for a couple of images at the end.I love how this one really accentuates the curves with the shear material and this plum color paired with her husband’s teal shirt works so perfectly in the blue hour light.

Wardrobe is everything! When you pick the right colors with the right time of day and the right location, it all matters.

Living in Las Vegas, I often see a lot of out of town clients. This means they, of course, want to shoot in our most iconic locations. So when I get a request to shoot at Red Rock from an out of town client, I always end it with this epic view of.... The Red Rocks!!! How could I not? We were both nervous it was going to be chaotic and freezing. While it was cold, we made sure we went when the sun was for sure out so we could stay warm and managed to finish up just as the sun set behind the mountain. It actually turned out perfect and the love and joy from this session is immense!
