Family Photography is my absolutely favorite type of portrait session. Especially when its a returning family. My clients often become my friends. I love getting to know them and watching their kids grow. I first met the Clyburn Family last year when mom reached out to me about booking a session. Her husband is an international basketball player and so they can only book sessions during the summer months when he is home. We had an incredibly beautiful family session, on location, last year at one of my favorite summer locations.
Between that time and this year, they also reached out to my husband about buying a more permanent home here in Las Vegas. So my husband got to know this family as he assisted with their real estate needs. My husband is an amazing agent with Realty One Group. So when they contacted me this year about doing another family photography session, they mentioned doing an in-home session as a way of celebrating their new home. It’s also a great option to get out of the desert heat during summer!
In-home family photography sessions are truly near and dear to my heart. Their is just something so intimate about being invited into a family’s personal space and being able to document them in their own environment. The kids had this adorable little arts and crafts center that we used. Mom also wanted to document them playing basketball because, let’s face it, basketball is a huge part of their lives! Incorporating these activities into their session also creates a free space for the kids to just have fun! I am not asking them to sit and smile for so many of these photos. I want to capture them playing, laughing, snuggling, being silly and any and everything in between. That is exactly what we got and I love each and every single one of these moments.
